Aditya Narayan Banerjee
Aditya is a Masters in Instrumental Music (Percussion) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He was born in a musical family at Serampore, West-Bengal, India. His father and sister both are sarod players. His uncle Sri B.B.Banerjee was a senior most disciple of Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravishankarji and “A” graded musician of AIR, New Delhi.
Aditya turned to tabla an early age of five when he started his training under guidance of Sri Shivshankar Karmakar, a prominent disciple of Late Ustad Karamatullah Khan of Farukhabad Gharana. Since 1990 he has been under able guidance of the great tabla maestro Pandit Swapan Choudhuri, a great Exponent of Lucknow Gharana.
Aditya is “Sangeet Prabhakar” from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and M. Music from Trilokya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata. He also completed a music appreciation course from West Bengal State Academy & is also a computer hardware and software engineer.
Aditya has more than 18 years of experience doing online classes all over the world. India, USA, Canada, Europe and middle East countries. Aditya got “Rastrya Gaurav Award” the year 2007 from India.
Aditya performed in WHITE HOUSE with Pandita Tripti Mukherjee as the first Indian Instrumentalist ever play there.
Aditya got “TAAL MANI” award from “Sikshayatan Cultural Center” New York Sep ’08.
Aditya obtained two titles “Acharya Var” and “Acharya Varistha” from “Pandit Jasraj Institute for music research, artistry & appreciation” by the hand of Living Legend of Indian music Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji.
TAALSAMRAT award from All India journalist welfare associations at Jabalpur India.
Played continuas 36 hours at Pune Film & television Institute along with Pt. Ramesh Narayan on Jan 2013 and put his name in Lymca Book of Records.
Participated in The Parliament of World Religion, Capetown, South Africa with Pandit Jasrajji Dec’99.
Aditya Performed at Hereford, U.K. in World Music Festival for the Royal Family of Great Britain Nov’02.
Recently Aditya perform with the famous top most Jazz guitarist “Larry Coryell” and famous Indian flutist “Pandit Ronu Majumder
As an accompanist in India Aditya performed at Science City, Gyan Manch, Kalamandir, Rabindra Sadan, Girish Manch, G D Birlàa Sabhagriha, Dover Lane Music Conference at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata; Arohi in Maleswaram,Bangalore; Voilopalli Smskriti Bhvan– thiruvananthapuram; Sanmukhanand, Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, Karnataka Sangha, NCPA, Nehru Centre, Ravindra Natya Sabha, Tilak Smarak- Vileparla(E), Mumbai etc & in USA New jersey, Tampa, Los Angeles, Chicago, Jacksonville. Orlando, Houston etc. And as an accompanist Aditya Accompanied Pandit Jasraj ji, Dr. Balmurli Krishnan, Pandit Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Pt. Ramesh Narayan, Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Smt Arti Ankalikar, Dr. Soma Ghosh. Pt. Ronu Mazumder. Pt. Kamal Mallik, Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya etc in different Venu in India & USA, Canada, Dubai, Sharjah, Abudhabi, Al-Ain, Kuwait, South Africa, Singapore.
Aditya is also in light commercial music, played for Gazal king Ghulam Ali, Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota, Rajkumar Rizvi, in movies with A Hariharan & Sujatha, music by Pandit Ramesh Narayan. North & South duet with Pandit Rattan Mohan Sharma and Shankar Mahadevan.
Aditya did lots of fusion music in India and abroad. In India he did with Ramesh Narayan, Stifen Devashi, Attakal Balu, Jemes etc and in USA with Joe Battaliya the famous Guterist, Leo the famous drummer & in UAE with Ramesh Narayan, Ustd. Rafique Khan & a big middle eastern instrumental group in Kuwait including 10 piece violin, viola, Wood, harp and lots of middle eastern percussions.
